Social Media and Content Marketing
Social media is a useful tool for free (or low-cost) real estate advertising. Depending on the platform and algorithm, you can share your message with your own followers and reach a new audience of potential clients!
Here are a few fun Valentine’s Day social media post ideas for real estate agents:
- “Love Where You Live” Series. Share testimonials from clients about why they love their home or neighborhood.
- Home Matchmaker Quiz. Create a quiz to match buyers with their dream home styles. The sillier, the better. For example, one question can have the quizzer choose their favorite from four reality TV shows and each answer correlates to a different home style (The Bachelor = a Mediterranean Villa, Survivor = an off-the-grid rustic farmstead, etc). Another question could offer four distinct charcuterie boards that relate to different home styles (A “brain food” board with nuts and fruit = a high-tech smart home, a lux board with truffle brie and duck prosciutto = a modern mansion, etc).
- “Reasons to Love This Listing.” Highlight special features of homes with a romantic touch. Show off the fireplace, clawfoot tub, private hot tub, etc.
- “Sweetheart Deals.” Showcase limited-time incentives for buyers and sellers. This is a great place for the “Killer Offer” we cover in 5 Ways to Generate New Leads THIS WEEK.
- “Home Is Where the Heart Is” Poll. Ask followers what home feature makes them feel most “at home” (a cozy fireplace, a spacious kitchen, etc.).
- “Love at First Sight” Homes. Feature visually stunning listings and ask followers, “Would this be love at first sight for you?”
- “Romantic Neighborhoods” Spotlight. Highlight local neighborhoods perfect for couples or growing families. Look for places with date-night restaurants, scenic views, day spas, etc.
- “Date Night at Home” Ideas. Post creative at-home date ideas and tie them back to cozy home spaces.
- Post stats on relationships of homebuyers. NAR has interesting data on married vs. unmarried couples in the housing market for example.
Email and Direct Mail Campaigns
Growing your mailing list is one of the best ways to protect your contacts. Unlike your social media audience, which can literally disappear overnight if the platform goes under, your list of email addresses can be backed up so you always have access to your audience!
You may already be sending regular newsletters (here’s a post with several newsletter examples if you’re looking for inspiration), but here are some Valentine’s Day real estate marketing ideas to connect with your mailing list:
- “Find Your Perfect Match.” Email a curated list of homes tailored to buyers’ preferences.
- Love Letters to Leads. Send handwritten or personalized emails to past clients thanking them for trusting you.
- Romantic Real Estate Stories. Email a special newsletter to share a success story about how you helped an in-love couple find and secure their dream home.
Events and Community Engagement
Want to take this Valentine’s Day real estate marketing campaign offline? Invite locals to a fun event!
- “Home Sweet Home” Open House. Decorate an open house with Valentine’s decor and offer chocolates and wine.
- First-Time Buyer Date Night. Host an educational seminar about buying a home, but make it a cozy affair where partners can connect over the process. For example, you could have questions for everyone to ask their partners, like What is the most important thing about a home to you?
- “Love Where You Live” Neighborhood Tour. Offer a special Valentine’s weekend tour of romantic or charming local spots.
