I think it’s worth mentioning that, oddly, I’ve never actually been a real estate sales agent. That was my original plan at 18 (I even passed the CA Real Estate Exam). But I changed course early on for a really good reason. I constantly move for my husband’s career in video game development – currently 17 moves in 20 years. I don’t need to tell you how impossible it would be to build a client base or local presence with that kind of relocation!

But I never lost my passion for the real estate world. I’ve managed to stay in real estate, in some form or other, the entire time. And it gets better: I’ve experimented in side ventures and found ways to create multiple income streams over the years. This has increased and diversified my income, making me less susceptible to ever-evolving market conditions. And it has enabled me to share these tips with other real estate professionals.

My Income Streams

People often ask if I’ve personally worked all the different income streams discussed on the blog.

Answer: absolutely not! And I wouldn’t recommend that anyone try to work them all.

You want to focus on your strengths, the areas of opportunity in your present circumstances, and the income streams that appeal to you.

For example, I’ve traded in my real estate career in Southern California for an entrepreneurial life abroad, so my income focus is on online services, investments, and the existing rental portfolio I still own in SoCal.  

I’m currently focusing on:

  • Creating social media and newsletter content for real estate agents who don’t have the time to do it all themselves (check out our DRIP program to get new marketing materials delivered fresh to you each month!)
  • Digital product creation. I’m loving the opportunity to create passive income through the sale of digital products (templates, workbooks, content calendars, etc.). You invest time upfront in creating and marketing useful products, then you enjoy the passive income generated from those products for months or even years!   • Blogging
  • Rental property income
  • Traditional investment income 
  • Content writing for real estate agents who don’t have time to create their own content (please note: my client roster is currently full, and I am unable to accept new clients at this time).

I’ve also had some success in:

  • Providing freelance database management services
  • Stock photography sales
  • Building affordable websites for professionals looking to build an online presence.

My experience in real estate and in creating multiple income streams has changed my life! And I’d like to share this knowledge with you so you can do the same.
